This week's Treasure Chest Thursday is a picture of my 3rd great-grandmother, Margaret Dove Ritchie, with her daughter, Laura Virginia Ritchie Carr's, family. Margaret Dove married Philip Ritchie, who was murdered. This past week, I've been acting as amanuensis, transcribing the articles about his murder. Oddly absent from any article I've transcribed thus far is mention of Margaret.
Margaret was born April 9, 1848 in Criders, Virginia and she died in 1916. Philip and Margaret's daughter, Laura, married Abe Carr. Laura was born July 1, 1872 in Fulk's Run, Virginia. This photograph of Laura's family was kindly shared by Ancestry user 'lsybennet'.
