Census Sunday Post #1

The month of October is Polish American Heritage Month. For this month I'll be sharing about my Polish American ancestors.

In the previous Surname Saturday post, I wrote about The Dombrowski's. Today, Ancestry had a hint for me regarding John Dombrowski, my 2x great-uncle. The hint was the 1940 Census.

From the Census, I learned...

  • John was a galvanizer at a steel factory

  • His wife, Sophie, was a chamber maid at a hotel

  • In 1940 he had three children Irene, Arthur, and Eleanor.
