Thankful Thursday
Thankful Thursday Post #1
I have lots to be thankful this week! I turned 30 last Wednesday and I've made some goals for the year.
Go 30 new places
Try new things
Read more classic books
Watch more classic movies
Simple, fun goals. I also have some career and education goals. On Saturday my mom and little sister Chloe took me out for my birthday. I was able to go two new places on that day and try some new things!
Shake Shack
I got the bacon cheeseburger and it was so delicious. My mom thought I had ordered bacon cheese fries and when she went to pick up out order she accidentally told the girl the order was wrong, so we ended up with *free* (sort of) bacon cheese fries. The burgers had a nice crisp to them and it was very filling where I barely ate the fries. The only turn off was that the "cheese" tasted like hot mayonnaise and even looks like it! The restaurant has a really nice ambiance to it and has a beautiful lake behind it with outdoor seating. The weather was perfect so we were able to comfortably eat outside.
Morse Museum
Next, we went to the lovely Morse Museum in downtown Winter Park with it's beautiful stained glass collections. This museum wasn't new to me, Chloe and I had been previously, but it's very affordable and always worth a visit.
Chewy Boba Company
Lastly, we went to Chewy Boba Company and I tried Milk Tea for the first time! It was so smooth and silky and the boba were an interesting mix. I also tried Macarons for the first time. I had Earl Grey, Matcha Green Tea, and Rose Lychee flavors! I definitely plan to go back with my husband so he can try everything too.
I've also been able to work on my goal of watching more classic movies during my 30th year. This week my husband and myself have watched two old movies.
Roman Holiday
and...
Laura
Both were really great! The only problem I see is that Netflix and Hulu don't have such a wide selection of classic movies, but we'll see how it goes. I'm still going to complete my goal :) I don't have a certain number of movies I want to watch set, I'm thinking 2-3 a month at least.
I'm still working on reading more classic novels. Still reading Sister Carrie. I'm trying to read a chapter a day at least, but I'm not going to lie, I haven't been keeping up with it as well as I'd like. I am enjoying the book, though.
Another wonderful thing to be thankful for is, my new job! I'm working at the same company as my husband and it is all around very nice :) Much better pay and benefits than my old job and a very nice company from what I can see. It seems like I'll really enjoy this work and it may allow us to ultimately complete some other goals we have.
I received some really nice mail this week from Postcrossing.
Postcards from Russia, The Netherlands, and Czech Republic.
Christmas card from a Christmas Card Tag on the Postcrossing Forum. This was really nice she not only sent a card, but also a letter, stickers, and an ornament!
Cute Beatrix Potter postcard from Taiwan!
